On this date, in 1919 KLM was formed and was the longest running airline running under its original name. It made it to 2004 before Air France acquired it and changed their name to include the KLM banner. Reading about this made me curious as to what some of the oldest companies are out there. So here we go with today’s list of really old companies that caught my eye. And instead of numbering them 1-10, they are listed by the year they were formed!

The US hasn’t even been around long enough to have any company anywhere close to being on this list. But after looking up the information on this list, I have an interest in heading up to Maine and staying at the Seaside Inn and Cottages, which has been family run since 1667. 12 Generations!
